UChicago Research Bangladesh (URB) is implementing a large project in Araihazar Upazila, Sonargaon Upazila of Narayanganj District, Laksham of Cumilla District and Chatkhil of Noakhali District titled "Environmental Health and Non-communicable Diseases Research, Training and Management in Bangladesh: Phase-2" approved by NGOAB. This healthcare research project is a part of Health Effects of Arsenic Longitudinal Study (HEALS) among the direct and indirect benefited community people. In addition, the team is assessing the health effects of air pollution among the community people through research and program.
All research participants are in our surveillance system including patients are in our non-communicable diseases (NCDs) surveillance system. For keeping all the healthcare related data of the participants, we introduced electronic medical record keeping system. All of our works are ethically approved by Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC). Besides, we organize community-meeting to aware on NCDs and other pandemics including COVID-19. We also organize short-term and long-term training for the young researchers in Bangladesh. Most of our work has collaborator in home and abroad. The evidences we produced are widely used in health policy planning globally.
